Steven Deceuninck, CFP®, CFS®
Steve began his career in the financial services industry over 20 years ago as an associate representative with a large insurance company. He attributes his love of financial planning in part thanks to his engineering background from a previous career. After all, designing and fixing things are what engineers do best and it didn’t take him long to see the similarities between the two fields.
Not only does Steve like to solve problems, he has a real passion for helping and educating people. Everyone’s circumstances are different. By listening to a client’s goals and objectives, he helps guide them down their own financial pathway by aligning their values with their financial resources.
Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in 1989 and a Master of Science in Finance degree from Walsh College in 2001. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a Certified Fund Specialist (CFS®). He is also licensed to sell life, accident, and health insurance.
While Steve is devoted to helping people gain financial security, he has a number of interests outside of financial work. Family is very important to him and he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children. Steve and his wife enjoy traveling and taking their dogs for daily walks. He has also played competitive racquetball and volleyball for many years. Lastly, he likes to take on different home improvement projects as a way to gain new skills and keep busy outside of work.
